Phyllis Kates received her Mastership in the Usui/Gray lineage from Suzanne Parnell at the Ajna Center for Reiki in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Before moving to Arkansas, Phyllis taught communication classes at Purdue University, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Retired from Wal-Mart's Marketing Division, Phyllis is one of the founders of TRI and now serves as its Executive Vice President. She is a case manager for TRI clients as well as a trainer of case managers for TRI practitioners. Believing you must heal yourself before healing others, Phyllis emphasizes the self-healing aspects of Reiki in her classes in addition to teaching students how to give Reiki treatments to others.
