The Ethics of Energy Work
A two day course that places the unique nature of Reiki healing and of the Reiki practitioner's methodologies within the ancient context of energy work, intent, and the ethics of free will. Begins with a taxonomy of subtle energies that describes Reiki against the ancient traditions, delineates the various modes of energy work currently available, their modes of activation, application, and effect. The course then examines the nature of "intent" and "intentionality" and the relationship of "intent" to the effective and proper use of all energy modalities, with special emphasis on Reiki. Participants are led to explore the hidden benefits and dangers of intent in advanced energy work, are shown methods of proper formation and use of intention in personal healing and facilitation work, and the corresponding reasons for and ways in which we can deliberately and accidentally misuse energies. Course involves some advance reading, lecture, discussion, demonstration, and specific techniques for crafting and controlling intent within an ethical and safe framework. Course Prerequisites: Second Degree Reiki (or prior permission), Beginning Meditation. Required reading before coming to class: Larry Dossey, M.D., Be Careful What You Pray For; Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements, usually available through local bookstores, Amazon.Com, and at TRI.
Saturday, Sunday, 9:00 - 6:00.

and places that cuts across disciplines (subtle energy theory, psychology, sociology, biology, history, and theology)

Participants are given techniques for identifying and evaluating the energetic cords controlling their lives, then shown how to exercise daily control over those energetic influences. Information given on how to distinguish forms of "energetic attack," both accidental and deliberate, on how to resist emotional/energetic parasitism, and on how to remove unwanted energetic influences in ourselves as well facilitate others in their clearing process.
